      Seeking Urdu Tutors for In-Person Urdu Conversational Classes

      Kids Bolo is seeking passionate Urdu tutors for delivering in-person conversational Urdu classes to children in Grades 1-10. 

      Location: Private school in Toronto, Ontario (possibility of in person classes at multiple schools in the future)

      These are paid positions that require a minimum commitment of one academic year (8-9 Urdu classes per term; once a week), with the possibility of continuing for future sessions. 

      Tutors will conduct weekly classes using the Kids Bolo Urdu curriculum.

      Role & Responsibilities

      • Use the Kids Bolo curriculum to create fun, interactive, and educational experiences for the students.
      • Spend 5-10 minutes preparing before each class to ensure smooth delivery.
      • Spend 5-10 minutes after each class to take notes on children's progress.
      • Maintain an inclusive and interactive learning environment.
      • Answer parents' questions professionally regarding their child’s progress or in-class matters.
      • Provide a 1-2 paragraph summary of each child's progress to parents at the end of term.
      • Provide two weeks notice if unable to attend a scheduled class; in emergencies, provide as much notice as possible.
      • Share feedback, suggestions, and ideas to help improve the Kids Bolo Urdu language program.
      • Ability to improvise while delivering lessons is highly encouraged

      Support provided by Kids Bolo

      • Kids Bolo will provide all slides and materials for the classes.
      • Instructor will print practice worksheets (provided by Kids Bolo) on their own to bring to class
      • Games and interaction ideas will be provided to enhance the learning experience.
      • All correspondence between the instructor and parents/school will be communicated to Kids Bolo immediately

      Requirements

      • Mandatory: Fluent in Urdu and English
      • Ability to read the Urdu script is an asset
      • Strong command on Advanced Urdu is an asset
      • Successful candidate must be able to switch between Urdu & English with ease and if needed, speak Urdu fluently without any switch
      • Professional (Canadian) experience of working with children/youth
      • Based in Canada, with Canadian citizenship and work eligibility
      • Access to a vehicle
      • Excellent time management skills (must arrive on time)
      • Reside in the Greater Toronto Area and be able to commute within the area
      • Bachelor's degree or higher
      • Comfortable with a hybrid English + Urdu teaching model
      • Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or able to obtain)

      Tutors for Virtual Urdu Conversational Classes

      We are always looking for great Urdu tutors to join our team!

      We hire on a rolling basis. If we do not have an immediate need, we will keep your information on file and reach out once we are hiring again.

      These are paid positions!

      Role & Responsibilities

      Urdu tutors are responsible for delivering Urdu conversational classes with a small group of children ages 5-8 years. They will deliver the Urdu curriculum designed by Kids Bolo twice a week for 8 weeks (you can choose to continue for future classes if you like!)

      • Arrive on time and be prepared for the day's lesson
      • Assess the progress of assigned students in learning the Urdu language
      • Maintain an interactive and inclusive environment for students within the virtual tutoring space
      • Type up a one paragraph summary of child’s progress to be delivered to parents at the end of 16 sessions
      • Share feedback, suggestions and ideas to help improve the Kids Bolo Urdu language program

      Support provided by Kids Bolo

      • Kids Bolo will provide you with all slides and materials for the classes
      • Provide you with games and interaction ideas for the classes
      • Kids Bolo will be responsible for marketing these classes however your support in spreading the word will be greatly appreciated
      • Kids Bolo will be responsible for the scheduling of classes, administrative responsibilities and be the first point of contact for all parents 

      Requirements

      • Native Urdu speakers
      • Based in the US, UK or Canada
      • Bachelors degree or higher
      • Must be comfortable with a hybrid English + Urdu teaching model
      • A commitment of at least 8 weeks (2 months) is required, with classes occurring twice a week
